Jade Lightning in the Sky
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Sad news for those of us of a certain generation: Frankie Knuckles (born, Francis Nicholls), the much beloved Godfather of House Music, passed away yesterday at the age of 59.

Frankie got his start at a disco at 206 S Jefferson, in the late 1970’s. It was here that he honed his skills, mixing acoustic disco with electronic music. It is often cited that the term “house music” got its name directly from the name of the dance club, The Warehouse.

Frankie. Gone but never forgotten. He started a movement that lives on today and has greatly influenced the person I am today. We never met face to face, but his music was beyond formative in developing my identity. I love you Frankie πŸ’™ House music all night long.

Yo. I had one of the craziest adventures ever this weekend. Dancing, new friends, and great music. This collage is one of many awesome moments this weekend. This was my first experience in a record store. KSTARKE Records is such a cool place! #mindblown #house #housemusic #chicago #music #records #vinyl
